  Best take out food in the area by far. If you are in the mood for slider burgers this is the place to go. The fries are hit and miss at times. Sometimes they are nice and crispy other times they are undercooked and soft.
  
  Breakfast is my favorite time to get bates. They have really cheap breakfast. I wish however they had a better selection like waffles or that sort.
  
  Parking lot is atrocious. Way too small for the amount of people who come in and out of the place. Come early in the morning for breakfast and a bit later then noon for lunch if you want to avoid the crowds. Not worth the hassle of trying to get a parking space.
  
  It being cash only really doesn't bother me. I think it adds to the charm of the place. That and you will never really spend more then $7- $10 bucks per person.

  Myself and my family lived across the street since 1953. I remember on Fridays my Dad would bring us Bates as a treat. Having 5 kids in your family it was very expensive to go out to dinner. Bates have the very best burgers any where. I remember we use to get our coffee in glass bottles with cardboard tops. I hope they stay there always .Pam Olds
